Smart Cooking Tips:

1. Make sure to roast ragi until the raw smell goes off. Otherwise, the laddoos will end up in raw ragi flour taste.

2. If you are using peanuts with skin, make sure to roast the peanuts and remove the skin before grinding it to a fine powder.

3. If you do not have grated jaggery handy. You can easily make it at home by warming up the jaggery in a microwave oven for 10 – 20 seconds for 3 – 4 times, until jaggery becomes soft and grate using a vegetable or cheese grater.

4. You can also replace the jaggery with brown sugar.

5. For binding the ladoos you can use warm milk or ghee. If you are using warm milk the laddoos will stay good for only 3 – 4 days. If you are using ghee, then the ladoos will stay good for up to 2 weeks (my little son Aldrich do not prefer ghee taste, so I made these ladoos with milk).

How I made ragi ladoos in 30 minutes?

Roasting and skinning the peanuts are the time-consuming task in this recipe. I used store-bought roasted peanuts that reduce the time and effort. Also, the other trickiest part in making this ladoo is grating the jaggery. I just warm up the jaggery in a microwave oven for 10 – 20 seconds for three to four times, until the jaggery becomes slightly soft and grate it using a carrot grater. Apart from skinning the peanuts and grating the jaggery, these ladoos are easy and simple to make. You can use store bought jaggery powder or brown sugar in this ladoo but personally, I prefer freshly grated jaggery.
