Kara sev is a crunchy savory snack with besan flour, rice flour and spices. You can store kara sev in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. 

  • 1.50 cup CHICKPEA FLOUR (BESAN)
  • 1 cup RICE FLOUR WHITE
  • 1 tbsp BUTTER WITHOUT SALT
  • 1 tbsp PEPPER BLACK
  • 1 tbsp PEPPER RED OR CAYENNE
  • 0.50 tsp HING OR ASAFOETIDA
  • 1 tsp SALT TABLE
  1. In a bowl add besan flour, rice flour, salt, butter (soft butter at room temperature), red chili powder, freshly crushed black pepper and mix well.

  2. Add water slowly and knead a soft dough. Fill the dough in the murukku maker and press on the hot oil.

  3. Deep fry the kara sev over a medium heat until the color changes to golden brown.
