Lassi:
Lassi is a cooling and refreshing yogurt based drink in India. It is a popular drink in the northern parts of India. There are different types of lassi like sweet lassi, salted lassi, mango lassi, banana lassi, strawberry lassi and masala lassi. Lassi is a healthy and filling drink that you can serve as a breakfast or snack. I like to have the lassi for breakfast because it keeps me fuller and energetic for a long time. Kids would also like lassi, my little son Aldrich loves the mango lassi and strawberry lassi.
Smart Cooking Tips:
1. Choose sweetened ripe and less fibrous mangoes for making mango lassi. If the mangoes are sour add an extra amount of sugar for a sweet drink. You can also use store bought mango pulp or frozen mango in this recipe.
2. If you are using frozen mangoes avoid adding ice cubes to the lassi.
3. Adding crushed cardamom is optional.
4. Add sugar according to the sweetness of the mangoes. You can also replace the sugar with honey.
