Beans masala is a spicy gravy that goes well with the chapati or roti. It is also added to the minced chicken or meat for a spicy and delicious curry.

  • 0.50 lb Broad Beans (Avarakkai)
  • 1 cup Onion Medium Size Chopped
  • 2 no Tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 0.50 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 10 no Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  1. Rinse the broad beans in water and cut them finely.
  2. In a pan, heat oil, add chopped onion, curry leaves, and cook until the onion becomes soft.

  3. Add turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and cook until the ginger garlic paste loses its raw smell.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and cook until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.

  5. Add chopped broad beans, little amount of water and mix well. Cover and cook until the broad beans become soft (keep stirring and sprinkle water often to avoid the masala from getting burned). Broad beans masala is ready to serve.
