Grow your traffic with Pinterest & Instagram -Tailwind Review

tailwind pinterest review

Unless you are living under a rock, you probably have heard that Pinterest has grown as one of the primary traffic sources for most blogs. Especially, food blogs.

The only problem is, it takes a lot of time and effort to make it effective because of the competition. A big challenge with Pinterest is to figure the right Pinterest board to pin in the appropriate time.

What is Tailwind?

Tailwind is the app that solves this problem. It is a Pinterest scheduling app that helps you to pin your content on many boards at the right time.

It is not only a scheduler, but also provides a lot of analytics and data for you to make your Pinterest marketing strategy effective.

With newly added Instagram scheduling feature, it helps save a lot of effort with Instagram as well.

Let’s look at it in detail.

Exclusive Features of Tailwind

Scheduling:

Tailwind application provides you many useful features such as queue scheduling, manual as well as visual scheduling.

In queue scheduling, you can pre set the pin timings by configuring your time slots, and your pins will drop into the boards at the scheduled time.

Whereas in manual scheduling you manually add the pins and schedule either individually or in bulk depending upon your requirements.

Among these, the best feature is visual scheduling of all your pins to save time. You see a calendar like a view and you can add your pins in the time slots.

Bulk Pinning:

You might be familiar with the Viraltag application that loads all the pins in a single click. You can do the same with Tailwind as well. To use this feature all you need to do is add a Tailwind Chrome extension and you can start doing bulk pinning on your boards right from your blog.

Reporting:

This scheduling app provides some really useful statistics reports about your pin performance. It includes some repins as well as likes and comments data on the pins that were published.

You can check these performance metrics and tweak your Pinterest marketing strategy accordingly.

Granular Pinning Control:

With this app, you have a complete control on which boards each image must be pinned to. You can even edit the descriptions of each image within this tool.

Pin from Instagram:

You can automate the Pinterest by using the Instagram images. Tailwind will help schedule the content from Instagram directly to Pinterest groups.

Save Images as drafts

Often when we find a content from other blogs you can just save these images as drafts and publish it later. This is a cool feature provided by this app. I even add multiple images and then go to tailwind and schedule only the ones needed.

Creating Board Lists

Another exclusive feature that can help you pin to multiple boards is by creating board lists. You can categorize the boards based on topics and when you pin to that list it pins to all the boards inside the list. You don’t have to select each board every time.

This saves a ton of time when you need to pin in multiple boards every time. This feature is a life saver for me.

Tailwind app pricing

With all these cool features, so what is the price?

Free Pinterest scheduler – You can get started for FREE and take it for a test drive before you decide to pay for the app.  Sign up, and you can schedule your first hundred pins for free.

The price starts at $9.99 for lower tiers and works well for most of the bloggers.

Buffer versus Tailwind:  Which is better for Pinterest Scheduling?

When it comes to scheduling apps, Buffer is a go to app for us. It is a great tool and provides many good features. But for Pinterest, Buffer lack a lot of features that Tailwind offers.

Tailwind provides a Tailwind Plus, and Buffer has an Awesome Plan both are comparable in the same price range.

From features standpoint, Tailwind offers much more features like scheduling analytics, various performance data, bulk uploading of images, board lists and the ability to save drafts.

Buffer only offers limited features for Pinterest and is mostly geared towards facebook and twitter.

If we compare the features of both these tools, then I believe Tailwind wins hands down.

You can visit TailwindApp.com to get an idea about the Plus Plan for Tailwind.

Improved Blog Traffic Using Tailwind

You can increase traffic to your blog if you pin to group boards in regular interval. This is where these type of scheduling app comes super handy.

You can upload the pin once and have the app post it in multiple groups at a regular interval. The analytics in the app also tells you the details about which pin worked best and at what time slots.

Based on the data you can create similar pins and post it in the recommended time slots to get more traffic to your site.

Tailwind for Instagram |Reviews

We all know Instagram is growing (or already grown) as one of the top social media. The challenge is it doesn’t allow any other app to directly post on Instagram. Making it difficult to schedule or automate posts.

At this point Tailwind also doesn’t offer full automation, but makes it easy to schedule post in instagram.

Let us dig deeper into this topic:

Smart Instagram Scheduling

Tailwind feature smart scheduling, that automatically detects the best time for you to post your next picture based on the past activity.

Smart scheduling enables you to see exactly when your next post will be uploaded and even you can drag and drop the image to a next slot depending on your requirements.

Save Time and Be Consistent!

Consistency is the key to success on social media platforms. With Tailwind Instagram Scheduler, you can batch your work and make sure it posts content consistently. With little work, you can have a most engaged Instagram profile.

TAILWIND VS VIRALTAG

Viraltag was one of a favorite tool for pinning on Pinterest. It is still a good tool with a lot of features supporting Pinterest. There is always a debate between viral tag and tailwind on which is the best tool for Pinterest.

Over last few years, Tailwind has grown to be a great tool exclusively for Pinterest.

Let us have a look at the pros and cons of Viral Tag.

Pros and cons of viral Tag

PROS:

  • 14 days free trial to schedule your posts on Pinterest, Facebook, Tumblr, Linkedin, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Bulk uploading
  • Automatic rescheduling of favorite pins
  • A browser extension to pin easily from any website

CONS:

  • Don’t support Safari to schedule pins
  • Changing the time slots of pins is rather difficult
  • Expensive than Tailwind
  • Not reliable as many pins fail to post on boards
  • At first, a sharp increase in the followers but a gradual decrease with time
  • Time-consuming to manage

Reports in Tailwind

Tailwind best feature is the analytics and data it provides. Every detail about your pin and the performance are captured and presented clearly. This level of comprehensive analysis of the data is necessary to maintain a consistent traffic to your blog as you come to know which type of posts or filters your audience like the most.

Tailwind provides insightful reporting of data your Pinterest and Instagram accounts. You can understand the performance of your profile and its engagement rate.

Moreover, it also offers data about your Followers, the ones who have visited most of your posts and liked them for one reason or another. You can benefit from this as you can engage with their content to attract more followers to your profile.

Tailwind Tribes

Tailwind tribes is a new feature and still in Beta, and you must surely give it a try. They are kind of Pinterest inside tailwind itself.

Let’s look at it in detail.

What is a Tailwind Tribe?

Tailwind tribe is a place where you can create your own tribes(groups) or join in other tribes just like group boards. But much easier to join and collaborate.

The members of the group add their pins to the queue, and you have the authority to see their pins. You can add those pins into your scheduled line to re-pin them back to Pinterest as well.

How do I promote my blog through Tailwind Tribes?

Tailwind tribes are a new and emerging feature and at this point, the engagement level is pretty high. People can only join tribes based on invitation.

They are free to use now.

How do I join Tailwind Tribes?

The person who has started a Tailwind tribe can give you a link to accede to the tribe, or you can give that person your email id, and he will add you. On the left-hand section, you can see a Tribes section, on clicking which will take you to your tribe.

How do I get an invite?

To join the tribe, you will require an invitation which you can get from members of Pinterest groups on Facebook often seeking for some contributors.

You can ping them, and they will let you know the procedure to join their tribe. They may send you a link by clicking on which you will automatically be redirected to the home page of their tribe.

If you don’t have a tailwind account, first join tailwind here and then join my tribe here.
